RODENT LABORATORY CHOW

Rodent Laboratory Chow is a constant formula rodent diet recommended for rats, mice and hamsters. The constant formula feature is designed to minimize nutritional variables in long-term studies. It is formulated for live-cycle nutrition, however, it is not designed for maximizing production in breeding colonies.

This product has been the standard of bio-medical research for approximately 5 decades.

  • Ingredients

    Ground yellow corn, soybean meal, wheat middlings, dried beet pulp, fish meal, ground oats, brewer’s dried yeast, dehydrated alfalfa meal, wheat germ meal, spray dried whey, animal fat preserved with mixed tocopherols, meat meal, calcium carbonate, salt, choline chloride, calcium, phosphate, L-lysine, dl-methionine, vitamin A acetate, vitamin A palmitate, D activated animal sterol (source of vitamin D3 activity), dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate (source of vitamin E activity), menadione sodium bisulfite (source of vitamin K activity), vitamin B12, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, calcium d-pentothenate, niacin, folic acid, d-biotin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, manganous oxide, zinc oxide, zinc sulfate, ferrous carbonate, cooper sulfate, cobalt carbonate, calcium iodate, sodium selenite.

  • Feeding Instructions

    Feed ad libitum to rodents. A plentiful quantity of clean, fresh water should be available at all times.

    Rats: Adult rats will eat 12 to 15 grams of diet per day. Feeder in rat cages should be designed to hold two to three days supply of feed at one time.
    Mice: Adult mice will eat 4 to 5 grams of pelleted ration daily. Some of the larger strains may eat as much as 8 grams per day per animal. Geed should be available on a free-choice basis in wire feeders above the floor of the cage.

    Hamsters: adults will eat 10-14 grams per day.
